Wheel Take You aims to provide Warwickshire's community with an affordable bus and driver to increase options and widen horizons.
We support schools and community groups to enrich lives, broaden education for young and old and reduce isolation arising from mobility issues or remote living locations.
We are a not-for-profit charity run by volunteers.
We currently only have 1 minibus but on occasions may be able to borrow another.
The bus has 16 seats plus driver and a tail-lift for wheelchairs or those who can't manage the steps.
We are a not-for-profit charity. Everyone is an unpaid volunteer.
Our charges are to cover our costs and are £85 per day (or part of day) plus 50p per mile from our base near Ashorne. We will agree the total before the day.
Our drivers all drove for Back&4th, are experienced, MiDAS trained,
DBS checked and tend not to bite.
We are happy to cover Warwickshire, collect passengers from a single point or several, do daytime or evenings and go short or long distances.
There is a tail-lift to give easy access to wheelchairs.
Often those in wheelchairs are lifted by the ramp, stand to transfer to a minibus seat and their wheelchair is folded and stowed (or taken by another vehicle if there are many).
We can remove seats to allow motorised or push-on wheelchairs to be fastened to the floor provided we are given advance knowledge of the make and model and confirmation that the manufacturer has specified its construction is designed to be used in this way. At least 2 minibus seats are removed for each wheelchair that is fixed.
Please use the booking form on the Users/Bookings page after reading the Notes fully.
Not quite sure? - fill in the form as much as you can and we'll contact you.
Please read the 'Support/Donations' page about much needed donations and offers of practical help. We have been given loans so as to start quickly and buy the bus but these need paying off. Our running costs each month are not small.
Do you know any organisations that might donate or sources of grants? Thanks.
